Reflecting on the incident, Russell believed that Verstappen’s actions were meant to intimidate rather than deliberately crash into him, and he expressed gratitude for the outcome that benefited him. With Verstappen nearing a race ban due to accumulating penalty points, Russell jokingly suggested that the Red Bull driver might try to earn an extra point to secure a weekend off.
