Verstappen Sets Sights on F1 Canadian GP Podium, Overcoming Mercedes’ Dominance

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen believes Red Bull won’t be able to match McLaren’s pace in the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix and is aiming for a podium battle with Mercedes instead. Verstappen, who won the last three races in Canada, expects a tougher challenge this time due to the characteristics of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve that may not suit Red Bull’s strengths.

Verstappen sees Mercedes as the main threat to Red Bull’s podium aspirations, rather than McLaren. Despite improvements in the car’s balance, Red Bull still lacks outright performance on rear-limited tracks like Montreal compared to its rivals.

While addressing the team’s balance issues, Verstappen acknowledges the challenges on low-speed corners, kerbs, and bumpy surfaces. He believes Red Bull is making progress compared to last year but needs to find more overall performance to be competitive.
