Max Verstappen believes Lewis Hamilton may receive a grid penalty for impeding him in Monaco Grand Prix qualifying. Verstappen experienced trouble as Hamilton blocked him during a crucial lap at Massenet. Both drivers, along with their team representatives, were summoned by the FIA race stewards afterward. Verstappen anticipated a grid drop for Hamilton, potentially moving him up the starting order. Despite the incident, Verstappen clarified it was a team error and spoke with Hamilton, acknowledging it was not the veteran driver’s fault. Verstappen struggled in qualifying due to lack of grip on Monaco’s bumpy streets, pointing out the car’s underperformance in low-speed corners as a recurrent issue for Red Bull.
