Peugeot Hypercar driver Loic Duval expressed disappointment after finishing towards the back at the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours test day. Peugeot’s two 9X8 2024 LMHs struggled, with Duval’s car finishing at the rear in 20th and 21st places. Ahead of the World Endurance Championship double points round, Duval is not optimistic due to the team being three seconds off the pace. Despite knowing the challenge, Duval remains realistic about Peugeot’s current performance, stating that they lack the speed to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team focused on optimizing their package and preparing for race conditions, but Duval acknowledges the significant gap in pace. Peugeot’s difficult campaign reflects in their seventh position in the WEC manufacturers’ standings, and Duval doesn’t expect significant improvements even after further sessions at Le Mans.
