Revving Up for Success: Cadillac F1’s Strategic Moves in Crash Tests, Recruitment, and Driver Selection

The Cadillac Formula 1 team revealed their logo in Miami at a glamorous event attended by VIPs, potential sponsors, and team management. The project has been in the works for over two years, facing challenges and delays, including involvement from the U.S. Congress. Finally, the green light was given on March 7, marking a new phase for the team’s entry into F1.

Investors Mark Walter and Dan Towriss have been instrumental in getting the project off the ground, with preparations underway at their Silverstone site. The team is now in full swing preparing for the 2026 season, considering partnerships with outside suppliers for efficiency. Collaborations with Ferrari for power unit supply and Dallara for chassis construction are on the horizon.

The team’s organizational structure is taking shape, aiming for around 600 employees with technical director Nick Chester leading the way. In tandem, work has begun on the power unit project scheduled for 2029 at General Motors’ Charlotte headquarters. The team faces challenges in meeting the stringent weight limit set for 2026, but progress is steady and focused.

The future of Cadillac’s F1 venture hinges on successfully navigating FIA regulations and committing to the development path laid out for the team. Despite past hurdles, the team is forging ahead with determination and strategic planning, setting the stage for a promising entry into the pinnacle of motorsport.
