MotoGP’s manufacturers have united to negotiate for a new financial framework with Dorna, seeking a larger share of the championship’s commercial rights. The five constructors met at the Czech Grand Prix, appointing Lin Jarvis as their spokesperson to interact with Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and express their demands for a fairer distribution of financial assets. Although Dorna initially showed reluctance, the manufacturers are hopeful for a compromise during upcoming negotiations, potentially at the Austria event in August, aiming to create a MotoGP equivalent of F1’s Concorde Agreement. The current focus is on revenue distribution and ownership of grid slots, both seen as crucial for the sport’s growth. The potential introduction of a structured agreement akin to the Concorde could be a significant step forward for MotoGP’s future sustainability and competitiveness.
