The 2026 Formula 1 calendar has been adjusted to accommodate Azerbaijan’s national day, moving the Azerbaijan Grand Prix to Saturday, September 26 from the previous Sunday slot, now being round 17 of the 24-race calendar, shifted a week from 2025. This change was made following a request from Azerbaijan promoters due to Azerbaijan Remembrance Day annually on September 27, with all F1 teams informed about the new schedule. The 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend will kick off on Wednesday with media day instead of Thursday, followed by practice sessions on Thursday, FP3 and qualifying on Friday, leading up to the race on Saturday. Alongside this adjustment, F1 has confirmed the dates of three pre-season tests for the new 2026 technical regulations, including a private five-day test in Barcelona, ultimately debuting the biggest regulation overhaul in F1 history next season.
