Schubert BMW driver Rene Rast hit his head before the second DTM race at Zandvoort, making the victory more challenging but ultimately securing his 29th career win. Despite confirming a headache post-race, Rast downplayed the issue, emphasizing the need for concentration and taking painkillers. After experiencing worsening symptoms during the podium ceremony, like dizziness and tingling fingers, he underwent further medical examinations due to the incident before the race. Rast, despite being initially treated at the track and then in a hospital in Haarlem, was released with no injuries detected and is set to compete in the Le Mans Hypercar class. The incident occurred when he hit his head on a railing while stepping over the pitwall, unbeknownst to his team and competitors during the race. Rast expressed gratitude for the support and precautionary measures taken, assuring fans of his readiness for the upcoming Le Mans race.
