Last weekend’s Silverstone 750 Motor Club event featured exciting MX-5 Cup races, with 40 entrants in the first race and a competitive group of nine cars battling for the lead positions. Reigning champion Ben Short claimed victory in the first race, followed by Oak Richardson and Jordan Johnson.
Race two saw another close battle, with Richardson spinning on the last lap and allowing Johnson to take the win, followed closely by Simon Walker-Hansell and Thomas Holland. Ben Short finished fifth in this race.
In race three, which had a partially reversed grid, Ben Short again emerged victorious, with Walker-Hansell pushing hard but settling for second. Richardson made an impressive climb from 13th to finish third in this race.
In the Classic Stock Hatch category, Pete Morgan won the first race in his Ford Fiesta XR2, with drama ensuing in the second race involving Rick Groom and Stuart Cleevely, who were fortunately uninjured. Edward Cooper won the second race, closely followed by Jason Wood, Neil Dudman, James Haslehurst, and Pete Morgan.
Hot Hatch races featured thrilling late moves, with Jake Renshaw winning both races in a Honda Civic and Lewis Barker securing the final podium position in an intense battle. The Locost races saw Daniel Garrett dominate the first race and face tough competition from his brother, Ryan Garrett, in the second race. Shane Stoney took commanding victories in both Radical races.
