Lewis Hamilton expressed his willingness to give a positive recommendation about Mercedes to Max Verstappen if the Dutch driver decides to leave Red Bull and join the Mercedes team in Formula 1. Hamilton acknowledged that Verstappen may be considering leaving Red Bull due to the struggles he’s facing with his current car. Despite being rivals, Hamilton would not hesitate to endorse Mercedes to Verstappen and also admitted to previously downplaying Red Bull as just a “drinks company.” Verstappen has been a target for Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, who confirmed discussions with the Red Bull driver. Verstappen, however, remained coy when questioned about these talks during the British Grand Prix media day, maintaining silence on the matter.
