Leclerc: Slipstream would have given Ferrari F1 Italian GP front row lockout
Carlos Sainz secured pole position at Monza, leading the Ferrari attack on home soil with a 1m20.294s effort. He was 0.013 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen, while Charles Leclerc qualified in third place. Both Ferrari drivers escaped a reprimand for exceeding the maximum lap time during Q1. Leclerc felt that he could have improved further had he gained a slipstream on his final flying lap. Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur believes drivers are better off without a slipstream at Monza. Sainz expressed his determination to hold onto first place in the race and give his all in battling Verstappen.
