Alpine Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly stated that the 2025 Imola Grand Prix practice was the best Friday of the year for him, despite being affected by a crash with a rabbit.
Gasly’s performance in the practice sessions was particularly strong following recent turbulence within the French team, including changes in leadership and a mid-season driver swap.
He set the third quickest lap time in the second session, finishing just under three tenths behind the leading McLaren cars.
Gasly praised the improvements made to his car since the previous race in Miami and expressed confidence in pushing it to the limit on the challenging Imola circuit.
During the earlier session, Gasly encountered an on-track incident with a rabbit, which caused damage to his car and disrupted his running.
Despite the setback, Gasly managed to complete a significant number of laps and secured a respectable sixth place in the practice standings.
