Manthey Porsche driver Thomas Preining won the second DTM race at the Norisring round, starting from sixth on the grid and executing a flawless strategy to secure victory. He surpassed Emil Frey drivers Jack Aitken and polesitter Thierry Vermeulen, who finished second and third on the podium. The race began dramatically with a crash involving multiple cars, leading to a red flag to clear the track. Preining’s impressive performance included moving up to third place during the initial start and then overtaking for the win. The battle for positions continued throughout the race, with Preining ultimately emerging victorious in a hard-fought contest. Preining’s win at Norisring has now put him in a tie for points with Jordan Pepper, both chasing leader Lucas Auer in the championship standings by seven points.
