Carlos Sainz believes that those in Formula 1 understand the reasons behind why he was not chosen by top teams last year but is now focused on helping Williams succeed. In a recent interview with Motorsport.com Italy, Sainz discussed his move to Williams and his commitment to the team’s development. Despite being overlooked by Red Bull and Mercedes in favor of less experienced drivers, Sainz is determined to use this as motivation to push Williams to the front of the grid. He sees Williams as an opportunity to be part of building a top team and is fully committed to the project with James Vowles. Sainz feels a strong personal connection to Williams and is motivated by the long-term vision of the team, contrasting his last year at Ferrari where he knew he would be leaving. He took his time to carefully evaluate his options before signing a multi-year deal with Williams, and is fully focused on the team’s success moving forward.
