Fernando Alonso is not having a fun time driving his car around the Monaco streets this weekend.
Fernando Alonso expressed his dissatisfaction with the current generation of F1 cars, labeling them the “worst” he has driven around Monaco. Despite his two-time championship status, Alonso struggled during practice on Friday, finishing 20th in the second session with a significant lag in lap times. The Aston Martin car posed a challenge, as evidenced by teammate Lance Stroll’s slowest lap and persistent understeer issues. Alonso highlighted the team’s struggle to address front axle grip and chronic understeer, aiming to refine the setup for improvement. The changes in F1 car design, now lighter and shorter with increased downforce in Monaco, failed to enhance Alonso’s driving experience. Overall, Alonso deemed this generation of cars as the most challenging in Monaco racing.
