This is an important one for the teams should confirmed power unit changes eventually be ratified.
The FIA has approved a change in the number of testing days for the 2027 Formula 1 season, following new aerodynamic and power unit regulations.
Teams undertook two three-day tests in mid-February at the Bahrain International Circuit after a five-day private shakedown in January at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya.
The Formula 1 Commission, chaired by Nikolas Tombazis and Stefano Domenicali, approved an increase from three to four testing days.
The additional day of testing is crucial for teams to adapt to potential changes in power unit configuration and aerodynamic components.
There will be restrictions on where Testing of Previous Cars can take place, particularly at circuits hosting a Grand Prix in the following year.
