The former F1 driver is to compete in the Indy 500 today with a touching tribute to the late NASCAR legend.
Romain Grosjean will be driving in today’s Indy 500 with a special tribute to the late NASCAR legend Kyle Busch. Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, passed away at the age of 41 after complications from pneumonia and sepsis. Known for his success with the #18 car at Joe Gibbs Racing, Busch won 63 races and two titles. Grosjean’s #18 car at the Indy 500 will honor Busch’s iconic font from his time with JGR. Busch later moved to the #8 car, which has now been retired by Richard Childress Racing in favor of the #33. If Busch’s son, Brexton, enters NASCAR, RCR will bring back the #8 number for him.
