Aston Martin Faces Second Penalty for ‘Potentially Dangerous’ Incident Involving Lance Stroll

Aston Martin hit with second punishment over ‘potentially dangerous’ Lance Stroll incident

Aston Martin was fined for a second time by the FIA stewards due to a potentially dangerous incident involving Lance Stroll. Stroll was flagged for leaving the garage with his car in an unsafe condition at the start of qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. The stewards noted that Stroll’s car lost an outer wheel trim and later the inner wheel cover dislodged during the session. Aston Martin was fined €7,500 for the incident, which was higher than a previous fine for an unsafe release of Fernando Alonso into the path of another car in the pit lane. The team acknowledged that a part of their inspection process had overlooked the correct fixation of securing devices, and they committed to reviewing their procedures.
