Max Verstappen will take on his first 24-Hour race at the Nurburgring Nordschleife this weekend.
Max Verstappen has expressed his readiness for his first participation in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring and his eagerness to engage in more endurance events in the future, following his prior experience at the Nordschleife in GT cars. He highlighted the importance of the Balance of Performance regulations in the 24-hour race, recognizing the potential impact they could have on the competition. Verstappen emphasized the need for the car to endure the entire race and noted the strength of both the team and the drivers. Balance of Performance, or BoP, aims to maintain parity among different GT manufacturers in endurance racing by adjusting factors like engine power and weight distribution. Verstappen’s interest in endurance racing has been further fueled by discussions about Ford potentially entering the 24 Hours of Le Mans and his desire to explore more opportunities in endurance racing if the Formula 1 calendar permits.
