Oscar Piastri was unlucky to miss out on a race victory at the Japanese Grand Prix last weekend.
Lando Norris acknowledged McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri’s bad luck for not winning the Japanese Grand Prix last weekend due to a safety car incident.
Piastri led the race after a strong start but lost the lead during pit stops as Kimi Antonelli benefitted from a timely safety car period.
Antonelli ultimately won the race, with Piastri settling for second place and Norris finishing fifth.
Despite McLaren’s disappointing result, Norris praised Piastri’s performance and expressed optimism for the team’s future races.
Acknowledging McLaren’s challenges this season, Norris highlighted the team’s improvements at the Japanese Grand Prix and the positive direction they are heading towards.
