BMW concluded a successful day of testing, with its fastest LMDh prototype placing eighth, 1.374s behind Toyota’s pace. Team WRT and Vincent Vosse led BMW’s focused approach on their own program and preparation, avoiding comparisons with rivals. The team prioritized different setups and race readiness over chasing lap times, aiming for a competitive car for the race. Vosse acknowledged Ferrari and Toyota’s speed, but stressed it’s early to determine a pecking order.
Vosse noted a serious approach from all teams in the pitlane, with no one focused on setting fast laps yet. The #20 BMW triggered a red flag after stopping at the Porsche Curves, requiring further investigation. Despite this incident, both BMW cars completed necessary work, leaving drivers content with the progress made.
