Connor Zilisch is a rising star in NASCAR and Trackhouse Racing is giving him experience in a Cup car while he competes in the Xfinity Series championship. Sponsored by Red Bull, he made his debut at COTA, impressively qualifying 14th but finishing 37th after a mid-race crash with Daniel Suarez.
Returning for his oval debut at the Coca-Cola 600, he qualified 33rd, had a spin with Jimmie Johnson but finished 23rd while teammate Ross Chastain won. Trackhouse announced two more Cup races for Zilisch at Atlanta and Watkins Glen, aiming to provide valuable experience. Despite a minor back injury, Zilisch is currently fifth in the Xfinity Series standings and has secured a playoff spot with a win at COTA. He’s showing progress on ovals with runner-up finishes at Charlotte and Nashville.
