Rene Rast shared the thrilling story of losing a duel to Jack Aitken in the second DTM race at Lausitzring. Rast described being overtaken by Aitken on the penultimate lap due to poor tire condition and lack of grip. Aitken’s impressive tire management was praised by Emil Frey’s technical director, attributing it to his victory. The late-race speed of Aitken, particularly in the first sector, led to the decisive overtaking maneuver. Despite a close finish with Jules Gounon, Rast managed to defend his position by a slim 0.045s margin, marking one of his closest races ever.
