The second Formula 1 practice session at the Las Vegas Grand Prix will take place two hours later than planned and will be extended to 90 minutes
Due to track surface issues, the second Formula 1 practice session at the Las Vegas Grand Prix will be held two hours later than planned and will last for 90 minutes. The first practice session had to be canceled after just eight minutes when Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz damaged their cars due to a failed manhole cover. The FIA confirmed the cause of the problem and expressed doubts about whether the second practice session would take place. The FIA later announced a two-hour delay for the start of FP2 in order for the track to be fixed, and the session will be extended to 90 minutes. As a result, FP2 is scheduled to begin at 2am local time, with the roads reopening by 6am.
