MotoGP rider Marc Marquez had a successful first day as a Ducati rider at the post-season test in Valencia. He performed well on the 2023-spec Ducati Desmosedici and was in the top four for most of the seven-hour test. Maverick Vinales set the fastest lap time, followed closely by Brad Binder before crashing. Marco Bezzecchi finished ahead of Marquez, and his new teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio had a solid debut. Raul Fernandez was fifth-fastest, and it was announced that his future team, RNF Aprilia, might be replaced by Trackhouse on the grid. Alex Marquez, Marc’s brother and teammate, felt that the Ducati GP23 was an improvement. New Honda recruit Luca Marini performed well and finished tenth. Enea Bastianini led Ducati’s works team, and reigning champion Pecco Bagnaia finished 11th. Yamaha made positive progress with new aero and engine updates.
