It was one of those unfortunate things at the Canadian GP which has placed Alex Albon and Williams in a race against time to repair his car in time for sprint qualifying.
Williams team principal James Vowles detailed the damage to Alex Albon’s FW48 following a collision with a marmot during Canadian Grand Prix practice, resulting in a crash into a wall. The incident also involved Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson and Esteban Ocon, extending the session by 19 minutes. Williams is now racing against time to repair the extensive damage for Albon to participate in sprint qualifying. Vowles commented on the risks of the circuit due to marmots being present for years and the frustrating situation for Albon missing crucial track time. Despite the setback, Albon’s primary concern was for his safety and jokingly mentioned adopting a family of marmots as a consequence of the incident.
