Silverstone has invested heavily in the new facility, formally opened by George Russell on Wednesday.
The new KART Silverstone facility at Silverstone has been described by boss Stuart Pringle as completing the venue’s “jigsaw puzzle” and offering a “genuinely world-class reveal.”
Featuring five different track configurations for karts capable of speeds up to 55mph with 390cc engines, the facility is located near the Silverstone Museum and Brooklands, Luffield section of the track.
The venue was inaugurated by Mercedes F1 driver George Russell, with RacingNews365 present, and showcased the ‘Grand Prix’ layout that includes a section of the old Bridge corner last used in 2009.
Pringle emphasized that the facility represents one of the largest investments ever made at Silverstone and is crucial in promoting motorsport to all ages.
The new karting facility aims to nurture talent and sustain the legacy of producing top British F1 drivers, aligning with the BRDC’s ethos and marking a significant milestone for Silverstone.
