Sergio Perez has expressed his interest in following Max Verstappen’s footsteps after watching his performance in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, despite previously tackling the Nordschleife in a rental car.
Verstappen, along with his team, was in contention for victory until their Mercedes AMG GT3 faced a driveshaft failure during the race.
Perez shared that he kept up with Verstappen’s progress through social media and found it quite interesting and enjoyable.
Speaking before the Canadian Grand Prix, Perez mentioned his fondness for the Nordschleife track, where he used to drive his rental car for fun laps during his Formula BMW days in Germany.
Although Perez found driving the Nordschleife enjoyable, he humorously admitted that he didn’t always bring the rental car back in one piece.
