The upper profile of the sidepods features a sloping design with an upper air duct directing airflow towards the rear of the car, signifying a major aerodynamic shift in the RB22.
While the sidepods had undergone modifications earlier in the Japanese Grand Prix, the final version was unveiled in Miami, highlighting a large area of increased pressure at the rear of the car.
This new design concept resembles Aston Martin’s 2024 and 2025 cars, yet the integration of the RB22’s sidepods into the existing aerodynamics sets it apart.
