Red Bull reveal key reason behind ongoing Max Verstappen F1 struggles
Red Bull boss Laurent Mekies highlighted the struggles the team and Max Verstappen are facing in maximizing performance with the RB22 F1 car. The team’s poor start to the season, accumulating only 16 points in three races, is exacerbated by Verstappen’s dissatisfaction with the new regulations. In addition to engine issues, Red Bull’s chassis is also problematic, placing them fourth behind Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren but ahead of Alpine. Despite efforts to address mid-corner balance difficulties, as explained by Mekies, the team acknowledges the need to improve performance to close the gap to the top competitors. In the Japanese GP, struggles persisted, with Red Bull acknowledging the gap of about a second to the leading teams and half a second to the top Ferrari.
