Verstappen has been vocal about his dislike of the 50-50 split between combustion and electrical energy in the RB22 car. He had foreseen these issues when the rules were first proposed and his current experience has confirmed his fears. Verstappen has even considered leaving F1 sooner, a move Piastri believes would be detrimental to the sport. Piastri emphasized the importance of racing against the best and expressed how losing Verstappen would be a significant loss for F1. In Piastri’s opinion, it would be a shame for the sport to lose such a talented driver like Max Verstappen.
