Heavy rain throughout the second session had a major impact on the overall times for the day.
The Nordschleife endured heavy rain during the night session, causing no improvement on the earlier afternoon lap times for the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Max Verstappen completed just one slow lap during the night session due to challenging conditions, a mandatory requirement for all drivers regardless of weather.
Rowe Racing’s BMW M4 GT3 #1 set the fastest time in the second qualifying practice at 9:19.884s, considerably slower than the afternoon’s best lap by the #80 Mercedes-AMG Team Ravenol.
Verstappen Racing, led by the four-time F1 champion, secured the third position for the day, finishing 3.6 seconds behind the leader.
In the rain at night, Dani Juncadella achieved Verstappen Racing’s best lap time of 9:34.713s.
