An aspect of the new, heavily upgraded Red Bull has caught the eye of McLaren chief Andrea Stella.
McLaren boss Andrea Stella mentioned that Red Bull’s upgraded RB22 sidepod design is very interesting and other teams will be looking to learn from it. Many teams, including McLaren and Red Bull, brought a significant upgrade package for the Miami Grand Prix, with Red Bull’s ‘Macarena’ rear wing being a standout feature. Stella highlighted the innovative approach of Red Bull in upgrading Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar’s RB22, especially in terms of the sidepod concept. He noted the differences between Red Bull’s sidepod design compared to Mercedes and Ferrari, as well as McLaren’s distinct style. Stella expressed that there is still a long way to go before the overall car designs converge, but teams will continue to study and test each other’s concepts for advantages.
