It was a shocking start to the new season for Oscar Piastri. Here’s why.
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has disclosed the three factors that led to Oscar Piastri’s crash at the Australian Grand Prix during a reconnaissance lap to the grid.
The incident occurred when Piastri’s MCL40 hit a kerb at Turn 4, sending him spinning across the track and into a wall on the opposite side.
This marked another disappointment for Piastri in front of his home crowd, following a spin in wet conditions last year that led to a ninth-place finish.
Stella expressed confidence in Piastri’s mental toughness and expects him to bounce back at the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix.
He emphasized the team’s unity and support for Piastri during this challenging time, highlighting their collective approach to handling setbacks.
