McLaren’s Strategic Move: Securing Gianpiero Lambiase as the Icing on the Cake

Lambiase will join McLaren in 2028 after leaving Red Bull, where he worked as head of racing and Max Verstappen’s race engineer. He will take on the role of chief racing officer at McLaren. Stella stated that Lambiase’s addition will provide crucial support without overburdening current staff. The move aims to ensure continuity and expertise in leadership roles, especially within the race team. Stella and McLaren CEO Zak Brown have prioritized maintaining quality and work-life balance amidst the demanding F1 calendar expansion.
