Max Verstappen has been very outspoken regarding his dislike for the new F1 cars for 2026.
According to former F1 driver Martin Brundle, Max Verstappen is “doing damage” to the sport by criticizing the new cars. Verstappen has expressed his dissatisfaction with the heavy increase in energy management, indicating he might leave at the end of the season. Brundle believes that no one is irreplaceable in Formula 1, as demonstrated by past examples like Murray Walker. He suggests there are talented drivers like Kimi Antonelli who could fill Verstappen’s place on the grid. Brundle warns Verstappen against harming the sport’s reputation if he chooses to depart, stating that Formula 1 will continue with or without him. Ultimately, Brundle acknowledges Verstappen’s impact on the sport while emphasizing that there are capable successors ready to step up.
