The second qualifying session for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring was plagued by heavy rain, but there was just enough room for Max Verstappen to tick an important box.
Max Verstappen reached a crucial milestone during the second qualifying practice session at the Nürburgring as heavy rain affected the circuit, resulting in varying lap times. Kevin Estre led the way early on in the treacherous conditions with purple sectors in the #911 Manthey Porsche. Team Verstappen, represented by Lucas Auer, faced challenges as conditions changed, but gradually improved their times. Despite the difficult weather, Dani Juncadella managed a strong showing with a lap time of 9:34.713s before the rain intensified, limiting further track action. Verstappen, however, met the night driving requirement with a cautious lap, acknowledging the regulatory necessity. The overall experience provided valuable learning opportunities for all drivers, even without significant time improvements. Verstappen Racing is expected to advance to the final Top Qualifying session, as they continue to navigate the challenges at the Nürburgring.
