Max Verstappen finished sixth in the second part of qualifying for the Nürburgring 24 Hours. The Dutchman drove a good lap and qualified for the battle for pole.
Max Verstappen’s strong performance in Top Qualifying 2 earned him a spot in the battle for pole position at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
His team, led by Lucas Auer who went fifth in Top Qualifying 1, showcased a strong overall performance.
Verstappen had the challenge of securing a top 12 qualification to advance to the pole position battle, which became more crucial with the setback faced by the Winward Racing Mercedes team.
Maro Engel’s crash due to broken suspension caused a Code 60, but luckily, Verstappen had already completed his lap before the incident.
Verstappen’s initial 8:14.4 lap remained unbeatable until the final minutes, when Nick Yelloly claimed the top spot.
Despite slipping to sixth, Verstappen safely progressed to the fight for pole position.
