Max Verstappen suffered a crash into the barrier during the opening segment of qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen revealed that he had an X-ray after his qualifying crash at the Australian Grand Prix, but luckily, no broken bones were found.
He was attempting his first lap during Q1 when he spun out at the opening corner due to brake issues and hit the barrier, ending his session.
Despite appearing to have discomfort in his hands, Verstappen reassured the media that he was fine and only needed the X-rays as a precaution.
As a result of the crash, he will start the race from the back of the grid, while his teammate impressed with a third-place qualifying position.
Verstappen explained that his rear axle unexpectedly locked up, a situation he had never faced before in his career, prompting him to call for a closer look at the issues in Formula 1.
