Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton renew rivalry as Lando Norris enjoys Miami sprint stroll
In the heated race at the Miami International Autodrome, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton clashed on multiple occasions, with the former finishing fifth and the latter seventh, impacted by a penalty given to Antonelli. McLaren’s Lando Norris secured a dominant victory, leading a one-two finish with Oscar Piastri, followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in third.
The race saw Antonelli initially cross the line in fourth but dropped to sixth due to a penalty for track limits violation, affecting his championship lead. The intense battle between Verstappen, Hamilton, and other drivers unfolded with multiple position changes throughout the race.
The sprint race had only 20 cars competing due to incidents involving Nico Hulkenberg’s Audi catching fire and technical issues for Arvid Lindblad’s Racing Bulls. Antonelli struggled once again with a poor start, overshadowing his promising performance in previous races.
Norris’s victory underscored McLaren’s resurgence, with the team showcasing significant improvements with updated cars in Miami. The championship standings now see Leclerc trailing Antonelli by 22 points, while Norris has narrowed the gap to 43 points, signaling a tight competition in the ongoing season.
