Max Verstappen has long been an outspoken critic of the current F1 regulations.
Former F1 strategist Bernie Collins has identified a “weakness” in Max Verstappen’s campaign for changes in Formula 1’s power-unit regulations. Despite initial agreement on a 60/40 engine split proposal next year, progress has stalled. Verstappen, a vocal critic of the current power units, has suggested his dissatisfaction could affect his F1 career duration. Collins believes Verstappen aims to benefit the sport long-term with his criticisms, leveraging his influence at Red Bull. Verstappen’s commitment to staying in F1 until 2027 may diminish the impact of his regulatory critiques, but he continues to advocate for positive changes within the sport.
