Liam Lawson has explained how F1 teams must navigate the tricky situation.
Liam Lawson expressed hope for F1 drivers being able to push flat out in races continuously, following the unveiling of a surprise energy demand during race weekends. Changes in Miami aimed to address concerns from the early season, allowing cars to super-clip to a full 350kw charge and capping overall energy harvest at 7 MJ from 8 MJ. Future modifications scheduled for 2027 will include examining a 50-50 power output split between the ICE and batteries. Lawson emphasized the challenges teams face in adapting to evolving track conditions and managing energy deployment. As track conditions change, energy management becomes increasingly crucial, impacting lap times and overall performance. The focus remains on optimizing energy usage to ensure competitive performance throughout the season.
