The latest senior figure within the governing body has quit their role which oversees important technical matters within Formula 1.
According to BBC Sport, Tim Goss, a leading engineer, has resigned from his role as the Single-Seater Technical Director of the FIA. He had been responsible for overseeing important technical matters in Formula 1, including the recent set of technical regulations introduced in 2022. Goss was also involved in the controversial technical directive implemented at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, regarding flexible bodywork. His departure comes after Sporting Director Steve Nielsen left the organization and will be replaced by Tim Malyon, the FIA’s Safety Director. The FIA expressed disappointment at losing someone of Goss’s caliber, but they understand and respect his decision to pursue another path in his career.
