Jaguar’s Gen4 development car is officially public to the world ahead of next week’s official Formula E Gen4 launch in France.

Jaguar has officially unveiled its Gen4 development car ahead of next Wednesday’s public test at the Circuit Paul Ricard and has also simulated a major step forward for Formula E. The car, named the Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE, will be officially unveiled at next week’s Gen4 launch event in a striking test livery to be used during the public running. The mostly black test livery showcases simulated speed data traces around the Circuit de Monaco for each generation of Formula E car, demonstrating the series’ significant progress. Jaguar used its advanced driver-in-the-loop simulator to create the simulated speed data traces and based on their simulations, the Gen4 car is set to showcase remarkable performance enhancements. With the Gen4 capable of producing 600 kW of power, equivalent to 815+ bhp, the upcoming test marks a pivotal moment in Formula E’s evolution towards cutting-edge technology. Jaguar’s team principal, Ian James, expressed excitement for the new era of Formula E, highlighting the championship’s role in pioneering EV technology innovation. The upcoming test, which will be the first not held in private, signifies a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Formula E and the Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE.
