Despite a thrilling battle with Kimi Antonelli in the early stages of the race, a major power unit issue on lap 30 led to Russell’s premature exit from the competition.
This setback allowed Antonelli to extend his lead in the championship race, further widening the points gap between them.
Russell recounted the sudden failure of his car, leaving him helpless and without power as he approached a corner, ultimately ending his race abruptly.
Nevertheless, Russell remained proud of his overall performance throughout the weekend, which included securing pole positions and a sprint race win before the heartbreaking retirement.
