George Russell has apologised for throwing his headrest onto the track during the Canadian Grand Prix, stating he felt embarrassed by his actions. His race ended abruptly on lap 30 due to a power unit failure, following a battle with Kimi Antonelli. The stewards investigated Russell and gave him a suspended €5,000 fine. Russell publicly apologised to the marshals and the FIA, acknowledging he made their job harder. Kimi Antonelli won the race, extending his lead over Russell in the championship to 43 points.
