George Russell Faces Second Stewards’ Verdict with ‘Sun Haze’ Defense: A Controversy Unveiled

It has been a challenging day for George Russell in Melbourne, who was in trouble with the stewards on two occasions.

George Russell received a warning from the Australian Grand Prix stewards for attempting to excuse an infringement by citing “sun haze.”

He was called to the stewards a second time for an incident with rookie Arvid Lindblad, resulting in a reprimand.

Russell failed to follow race director Rui Marques’ instructions and made a practice start outside the designated area, leading to the warning.

Despite citing visibility issues due to sunlight, the stewards concluded that Russell deviated too far from the correct location, warranting the penalty.

They noted that the incident occurred after the teams were warned by the race director to comply with instructions.
