Despite speculation that Verstappen may move to Mercedes and potentially be paired with Russell, the British driver is currently behind Kimi Antonelli in the standings. However, Russell has not ruled out the possibility of partnering with Verstappen in a sports car event following their close encounter at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. When asked about racing alongside Verstappen, Russell mentioned being open to the idea and eager to compete against the best drivers in the world, similar to his experience with Lewis Hamilton in the past.
