Oliver Bearman suffered a seismic crash during the Japanese Grand Prix last month.
FIA single seater director Nikolas Tombazis stressed the importance of taking time to implement measures after Oliver Bearman’s crash at the Japanese Grand Prix. Bearman faced significant closing speed while following Franco Colapinto’s Alpine, leading to a high-speed collision with the wall. Despite limping away from the wreck, Bearman was later cleared by the local medical center. The FIA is currently in discussions with teams regarding potential regulation changes in response to safety concerns raised by Bearman’s incident. Tombazis emphasized the need to avoid hasty decisions and ensure that any changes prioritize safety above all else. The FIA plans to convene with teams next week to seek consensus before the season resumes in Miami.
