After disruptions were made to the Formula 2 calendar due to the Middle East conflict, the FIA has now confirmed its new plan.
The FIA has confirmed two new rounds for the Formula 2 calendar to replace the canceled Middle Eastern events.
The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were called off due to the war outbreak in the region.
Miami (May 1-3) and Montreal (May 22-24) will now host Rounds 2 and 3 of the 2026 calendar, marking the first time Formula 2 will race in North America.
F2 will return to Europe after these North American races, with the schedule starting in Monte-Carlo, Monaco in June.
F3, however, will not be racing in Miami and Montreal, and is scheduled to return on the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
F2 CEO Bruno Michel expressed excitement about the new races, thanking Formula 1, the FIA, and the promoters for their support in adding the new Rounds to the calendar in a short amount of time.
He emphasized the significance of bringing F2 to North America for the first time, highlighting the enthusiasm of teams and drivers to face this new challenge and provide exciting racing for fans.
